A student cannot learn on an empty stomach, so at Positive Tomorrows, all children receive breakfast, lunch, and a snack every single day. Most homeless families are food insecure, and the only meals their children receive happen at school. What children eat in the cafeteria is fuel for learning, growing, and thriving.
This school year, BF Farms donated 200 lbs. of 100% grass-feed, antibiotic and hormone free, natural beef and lamb to Positive Tomorrows’ school lunch program. Thanks to this generous gift, the school chef has cooked the highest-quality sloppy joes, chili, tacos, and even shepherd’s pie ever served at Positive Tomorrows. Teachers and staff know that students are receiving healthy nourishment that will help them learn both inside and outside of the classroom.
“It is important to us to give back, so we asked ourselves, where can we do the most good?,” said Jayne Benkendorf of BF Farms. “We wanted to help children, and our hearts just go out to the kids at Positive Tomorrows.”
Thanks to BF Farms, this year’s school lunch program is healthier and more delicious then ever, and their generosity means dollars will go twice as far to serve students and families. Thank you BF Farms, for keeping tummies full and keeping smiles on little faces.
