A Thunder Thanksgiving!

Positive Tomorrows students and OKC ThunderFor the second year, Oklahoma City Thunder players and members of the OKC Thunder Cares Foundation helped our kiddos and their families enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving meal together.

On Nov. 14, our kiddos and their families got to see the new school for the first time. After the OKC Thunder Cares Foundation served all our families a warm Thanksgiving lunch of turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, green beans and rolls, all the OKC Thunder players arrived to surprise them with Thanksgiving-themed carnival games and activities in the gym and the spaces surrounding the cafeteria/family room.

The kiddos stayed in the cafeteria/family room and gymnasium to hang out with the OKC Thunder, participate in games, and go outside to play on their brand new playground. Parents were able to go on a tour to other parts of the building to see where they would be meeting with their family support case managers and where their children would soon be learning.

“This whole place is amazing,” Steven Adams, Thunder center said. He was able to have firsthand experience with the differences between the old school and the new school having previously visited Positive Tomorrows with the OKC Thunder in the year before.

This Thanksgiving lunch marked the first event held in the new school.
