Homeless students have many barriers that get in the way of learning. Imagine not knowing where your next meal will come from or where you’ll sleep at night.
For families struggling with their most basic needs, something as simple as a pair of glasses can be an impossibility. But this year, thanks to Cornerstone Eyecare, all of our students will receive eye exams and necessary glasses – all free of charge.
“We are thrilled to partner with Positive Tomorrows,” said Dr. Jay Sparks of Cornerstone Eyecare. “It’s an opportunity to fulfill our purpose of providing our community with the best vision, eye health, and positive experience possible. It is truly better to give than to receive!”
And staff at Cornerstone make every visit special. While kids wait for their eye exams, they can play with therapy dogs, enjoy healthy snacks, watch a movie, or play games with the clinic’s caring staff.
“We believe that vision is crucial to learning & succeeding in life. How can a child learn if they can’t see the board? How can a child learn if they can’t read a book?” said staff members at Cornerstone Eyecare. “We strive to improve our community by helping people see their best. Positive Tomorrows shares a similar journey of fostering a better living, helping Oklahoma’s children and their families see a brighter future for themselves and for our state.”
